Tailgating is only acceptable under one definition and one only.

Acceptable definition -

Tailgating: Verb - To host or attend a social gathering at which an informal meal is served from the back of a parked vehicle, typically in the parking lot of a sports stadium., music venue, bonfire or social gathering.

Completely unacceptable definition -

Tailgating: Noun - An act of driving dangerously close behind another.

When you're driving so close to the vehicle in front of you that if they hit the brakes you would end up stuck together like two breeding dogs but without the satisfaction or cute puppies 60 days later.

According to the Urban Dictionary -

Tailgating:

- Following a car too closely with your miniature pickup truck while blasting Eminem on the stereo; a form of overcompensation for economic failure and small genitalia.
